SUI

Sui is a layer-1 blockchain built on the Move programming language, originally developed at Meta's Diem project. The network uses an object-centric data model rather than the account-based model common in EVM chains, enabling parallel transaction processing for non-overlapping state and eliminating the global ordering bottleneck that limits throughput on sequential blockchains. Sui employs a delegated proof-of-stake consensus mechanism with a novel approach to transaction certification that allows simple transfers to bypass full consensus, achieving sub-second finality for many transaction types. The ecosystem spans DeFi protocols, gaming applications, and social platforms, with a focus on user-friendly onboarding through features like zkLogin and sponsored transactions. SUI is used for gas fees, staking, and governance.
